FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A northside Fort Wayne home is damaged following a fire Friday afternoon.

Firefighters discovered heavy flames and smoke coming from an attached garage on the home at around 5 PM Friday.

An adult and child were outside at the time of the fire and two cats were rescued. One firefighter suffered a minor injury.

According to a press release, the fire was under control about 20 minutes after arrival. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
