INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): A former Indiana Recount Commission member has been replaced for the panel’s review of a closely contested state Senate race decided by just 14 votes, according to the Indiana Capital Chronicle.

The change came after Sen. Liz Brown of Fort Wayne objected to Indianapolis attorney Paul Mullin’s participation, citing past campaign contributions to her Republican primary opponent.

Mullin has appointed attorney Mark Wynn as his proxy for the recount of Senate District 15, which pits Brown against challenger Darren Vogt.

The dispute centers on whether Mullin’s political donations could create a conflict of interest during the review process, which remains ongoing.
