Fort Wayne City Council Reviews Routine Business And Updating The Legacy Fund

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Fort Wayne City Council ended 2025 Tuesday night by reviewing routine business and updating the Legacy Fund.

The fund, created from a $39.2 million 2010 settlement with I&M, supports local projects like the Wells Street Bridge, the Fairfield, and the Clyde Theatre while keeping its principal intact.

Councilman Nathan Hartman (R-3rd District) said the council updated rules for fund usage after payments stopped in January, aiming to preserve the principal above $30 million and make funding decisions clearer.
