Fort Wayne company settles discrimination lawsuit

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne company has settled a federal lawsuit filed against them after a former employee claims they fired her because she was pregnant.

Office Concepts has agreed to pay $45,000 and provide “other relief” over the suit that was filed by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The lawsuit accused Office Concepts of hiring a new employee after Lynsey Burd informed her manager she was pregnant, having Burd train the new employee, then firing Burd the next day.

The company has agreed to pay Burd the money, attend non-discrimination training sessions, and submit compliance reports to the agency for the next two years, but still denies the allegations.
