Fort Wayne Drug Dealer Sentenced To Over 15 Years In Prison

FORT WAYNE, Ind., (WOWO) – A Fort Wayne man who attempted to deal a kilogram of cocaine in December of 2012 has been sentenced to about 15 and a half years in federal prison.

U.S. Attorney David Capp announced the sentence Friday for 34 year old Pedro Garza. Garza attempted to sell the large amount of cocaine to an undercover informant. He led police on a chase afterwards, but was arrested without incident after crashing his vehicle into a fence.

His accomplice in the sale, Luis Juarez Cabrera, was sentenced last month to 5 years in prison. Both men will have 4 year supervised release after their prison terms are up.

The Fort Wayne Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division, the Fort Wayne Emergency Service Team (EST) and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration assisted in the arrest of Garza and Juarez Cabrera.
