Ikasucon Convention Draws 2,000 Over Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fans of Japanese animation gather in downtown Fort Wayne over the weekend.

The Ikasucon convention draws about 2,000 fans of this specific genre of animation, comic books and table top games. They gathered at the Grand Wayne Center, and on Sunday the main attraction of “Night Vale” was the main draw for fans of their podcast and YouTube videos.

The Journal Gazette reports that Ikasucon participants are usually between the age of 14 and 25. They say anime is the main focus, but anything, “nerdy” or “geeky” is acceptable.
