Fort Wayne ranked as the the one of the most “Spatially Unequal” cities, Lucretia Cardenas has the details.

Lucretia Cardenas, Editor of “Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly” joined Charly Butcher on “Fort Wayne’s Morning News” to talk about what’s inside this week’s issue.

1) Study ranks Fort Wayne among most ‘spatially unequal’ cities
Fort Wayne is neither distressed nor prosperous, but it is among the most spatially unequal of the nation’s 100 largest cities, according to an Economic Innovation Group Distressed Communities Index.
2) Spatial inequality ranking could spur improvements
A fifth place spatial inequality ranking among the nation’s 100 largest cities in the Economic Innovation Group Distressed Communities Index will not help with that immediately, but could “be the spark that helps create an impetus to take action,” said Jonathan Ray, president and CEO of the Fort Wayne Urban League.
3) Living mobile
Mobile home parks have gotten a bad rap over the years, but they provide an affordable housing option for many residents and significant earning potential for park owners.
4) Warm-up act
While a topic of discussion and consideration for years, the idea to build a new sports and entertainment arena in downtown Fort Wayne just pulled out of neutral to get off to a slow and careful start.
