FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne woman was arrested Tuesday after police say she was making drugs in a basement and it started a fire.

Nora Dolsen was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing a synthetic drug, neglect of a dependent and maintaining a common nuisance, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

At about 3:52 p.m. Tuesday, Fort Wayne firefighters were called to a house in the 2100 block of West Main Street on reports of a basement fire.

During the incident, Vice and Narcotics Detectives found evidence of manufacturing “spice” or synthetic drugs in the basement. Investigators believe the fire started in the basement during the manufacturing process.

Police say detectives also found 840 grams of powered synthetic cannabinoids, which is used in the manufacturing process.

If the drugs had been made with the materials found, police say it would have had a street value of $150,000.

The Department of Child Services was contacted because several children were removed from the house. The Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Division condemned the house because of the fire damage.

The fire is still under investigation.
