Garage Cruise to Show off Vehicle Restoration

AVILLA, Ind. (AP): Vehicle restoration fans are revving up for an annual Garage Cruise that showcases their projects.

The tour will be held Sunday and feature five stops in Avilla, Kendallville, Auburn and Fort Wayne. The event is a precursor to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival.

Participant Don Monesmith says that it's fun to see the vehicles during the restoration process.

He's restoring a 1924 Meteor school bus with a wooden body at his garage near Avilla. Visitors to his garage also will see a 1946 Ford Deluxe sedan with suicide doors and a fuel-injected Ford flathead V-8 engine.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $10 for all garages, or $5 for one garage
