HIV Cases Increase in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): State health officials announced today that the number of HIV cases in the southeastern Indiana outbreak has increased. There are now 154 confirmed cases and one preliminary positive. There was also an update released today on the Scott County Needle Exchange Program. So far, an estimated 12,632 needles have been returned either through the program or by the community. Over 4 thousand needles have been provided since the program began in March. The program was designed to combat the outbreak, and nearly 290 people have taken part in the exchange.
