Farmer Dies During Field Fire in Northwestern Indiana

FOWLER, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities say a 61-year-old farmer was killed during a field fire in rural northwestern Indiana.

The Benton County Sheriff's Department says the man died from smoke inhalation and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire was reported Tuesday afternoon in northern Benton County, about 30 miles northwest of Lafayette.

Authorities didn't immediately release the man's name or say what caused the fire
