HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Huntington County apparently knows its stuff when it comes to severe weather.

The National Weather Service gave the county a “Storm Ready” designation Tuesday. That means county officials have made a “strong commitment” toward implementing programs and systems that will help protect both lives and property in the event of severe weather.

Emergency Management director Lindsie Goss tells our Partners in News at 21Alive the new title means they can give the National Weather Service updates on what's happening in the County at the ground level, and in return the Service will help them have up-to-date info to pass along to the public.
