INDIANAPOLIS (AP): State transportation officials faced with a looming deadline on the future of an Amtrak passenger line between Indianapolis and Chicago have met with mayors and lawmakers to discuss their options for keeping it rolling.
 
       The Hoosier State Line runs four days a week between Indianapolis and Chicago, with four stops in between. But it will grind to a halt Oct. 1 unless Indiana comes up with $3.1 million annually to replace operating funds Congress has pulled.
 
       State transportation officials hope cities and counties served by the passenger line will chip in local funding.
 
       State Rep. Randy Truitt attended Wednesday's meeting with state transportation officials and representatives from communities along the line. He says most local officials are willing to help fund the line but no decisions have been made.
