Indiana Department of Education Receives Federal School Improvement Grants

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): This week, the Indiana Department of Education received over $8.6 million dollars in School Improvement Grants from the US Department of Education.

“Today’s announcement reinforces my commitment to work directly with local schools through the newly created Outreach Division for School Improvement,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz. “The Department of Education is dedicated to providing schools with the resources they need to ensure that all Hoosier children receive an equitable and high quality education.”

School Improvement Grants afford school districts the opportunity to make changes that will positively impact student achievement.  The funds will be used during the 2014-2015 school year.
