INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Indiana State Board of Education is set to consider a new school-grading formula and new school grades for the past year.

The board was expected to approve the 2013-2014 school grades when it met Wednesday. It also will consider a new formula changing how student grades and test scores are calculated into a school's grade. 

Former Schools Superintendent Tony Bennett secretly altered the grading formula in 2012 to benefit Republican donor Christel DeHaan's Indianapolis charter school.

Shortly after Bennett's change was revealed, state education leaders launched an intensive and public review of the school grading formula.

State board members and others have expressed frustration trying to find a system that works for all the state's schools.
