NEW CASTLE, Ind. (AP) — A central Indiana man has reached a plea deal in a 2013 automobile crash that killed two people who were passengers in his car.

Court records show Isaiah P. Stone has agreed to plead guilty to two counts each of causing death when driving with a controlled substance in system and causing serious bodily injury when driving with a controlled substance in system.

Authorities allege the 28-year-old Pendleton man had ingested marijuana before he ran a stop sign in Middletown on Sept. 10, 2013, and crashed.

That crash killed Stone's passengers, 28-year-old Clifton Shane Thompson of Middletown and 22-year-old Caroline P. Bateman of Pendleton.

A Henry Circuit Court judge who will consider Stone's plea has scheduled a Jan. 21 sentencing hearing.
