Authorities said shots were fired from one vehicle toward another as the vehicles traveled from northbound I-65 onto the eastbound Interstate 80 ramp in Lake County.

According to Indiana State Police, the incident started when the occupants of two vehicles became involved in a road rage confrontation while traveling northbound on I-65.

Investigators said the encounter continued as the vehicles approached the interchange connecting I-65 northbound to I-80 eastbound.

Police said the victim was able to exit the interstate and stop at the Central Avenue off-ramp before calling 911.

The victim sustained minor injuries caused by shattered glass from the vehicle but was not struck by any bullets, according to investigators.
