INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indiana Supreme Court has permanently removed a central Indiana judge from the bench months after a state commission charged her with dozens of counts of misconduct.
 
       The Indianapolis Star reports Tuesday's court order removes Marion Superior Judge Kimberly Brown from the bench by making her ineligible for judicial office. She's the first Indiana judge permanently removed since 2004.
 
       The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications charged Brown in August with 47 misconduct allegations. Those claim, in part, that she delayed the release of at least nine defendants from jail, created a hostile environment for staff and attorneys, and didn't train or supervise court employees.
 
       Tuesday's court order says Brown “displayed a lack of dignity, courtesy and patience required of judges” and “negatively affected parties, court staff and others.”
