Indiana Team Says it Feels Cheated by Little League Scandal

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP): A southern Indiana Little League team says it feels cheated by a regional loss last year after learning that the team that won has been stripped of its national championship for using ineligible players.

The New Albany Little League All-Stars lost to Chicago's Jackie Robinson West in the 2014 Great Lakes championship after holding a four-run lead until the final two innings.

Little League International stripped Jackie Robinson West of its titles Wednesday for using players from outside the league's boundaries. It named New Albany the Great Lakes champions.

Team manager Josh Biven tells the News and Tribune the team hopes to travel to this year's World Series and hopes players can walk on the field and be recognized as 2014 Great Lakes champions in the opening ceremony.
