FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): Attorneys for a man charged with helping plot a massive Indianapolis house explosion that killed two people spent about a half hour presenting testimony before resting their case.
Bob Leonard didn’t testify Friday as the defense took its turn after 16 days of prosecution testimony in his trial on murder and other charges.
Prosecutors allege Leonard took part in a plot to collect $300,000 in insurance by causing a natural gas explosion in the house of his half brother’s then-girlfriend. The November 2012 blast killed two neighbors and destroyed or damaged more than 80 homes.
Jurors hearing the case in Fort Wayne were told to return Tuesday for closing arguments before they begin deliberations.
Leonard’s half brother, Mark Leonard, is serving two life sentences after being convicted in July.
