INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The operator of an Indianapolis mobile home park is facing a discrimination lawsuit alleging it discouraged minorities and people with disabilities from renting homes.

The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana this month filed the federal lawsuit against Shiloh Estates and owner Colorado-based FR Community. The lawsuit alleges that since 2011, the management at Shiloh Estates discriminated against African-Americans, Latinos, families with children and people with disabilities.

The Indiana Civil Rights Commission ruled earlier this year it did not find reasonable cause for a possible violation of nondiscrimination laws. 

The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/1HMZNph ) Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana Executive Director Amy Nelson said the organization believes the state's decision was “made in error.'' 

Messages left for the Indiana Civil Rights Commission and FR Community were not immediately returned.
