Indy Man Charged with Killing Son gets Public Defender

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A judge has appointed a public defender to represent an Indianapolis man charged with murder in the disappearance of his 6-week-old son whom he claim was abducted by strangers.

The judge also entered a not guilty plea for 24-year-old Willie Wilson during his initial hearing Thursday.

Wilson currently is being held without bond, but the judge granted his request for a bond hearing on April 2nd.

Wilson was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with the August 27th disappearance of Delano Wilson, whose body hasn't been found.

Wilson told investigators at the time of the reported disappearance he was carrying his son on the city's near west side when two strangers mugged him and took the child.

Prosecutors say surveillance video recorded moments before the reported abduction contradicts Wilson's story.
