Inmate Found Dead in Central Indiana Jail

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WOWO): An inmate at the Hancock County Jail is dead after hanging himself in his cell  Tuesday morning.
Michael Ryan Youngblood, 34, was awaiting sentencing after a child molestation conviction. Captain Jeff Rasche (rash) with the Hancock County Sheriff‘s Department says Youngblood was found hanging in his cell during a routine check just after 6:00am. Resuscitation efforts began, but Youngblood was pronounced dead a short time later at Hancock Regional Hospital.
While an investigation continues, Rasche says it appears Youngblood hanged himself using his jail-issued pants which had been tied to the bars of his cell door. Rasche says there had been no previous concerns that Youngblood would try to hurt himself. An autopsy is pending.
