INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A woman who fought an Evansville church's plan to display dozens of 6-foot tall crosses on public land along the city's riverfront says she believes the case could go all the way to the Supreme Court.
Nancy Tarsitano Drake attended the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals hearing Tuesday in Chicago where lawyers for both sides argued their cases over the 31-cross display.
West Side Christian Church appealed a lower court order that ruled the display would be an unconstitutional endorsement of religion by the city. Lawyers for the church have argued the display is a freedom of speech issue.

The church's attorney didn't immediately respond to an Associated Press email seeking comment.
