Lake County Court in Hammond Closed Due to Water Main Break

HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) _ A water main break has forced the closure of the Lake County Supreme Court in downtown Hammond.

Lake County Commissioner Mike Repay tells The Munster Times that the water main break happened overnight Thursday into Friday. He says water to the court building was shut off.

Repay says Hammond Water Department crews were working on the break early Friday, Repay says officials believe age and weather were to blame for the break.

No other buildings were impacted and Repay says the courthouse is expected to reopen on Monday.
