SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ A northern Indiana man who admitted threatening a federal employee in a telephone call to an aide of then-U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly has been sentenced to the 27 months already served and three years of probation.
 
  The South Bend Tribune reports that U.S. District Court Judge Robert Miller Jr. sentenced Brett Keiling of Granger on Monday. Miller told Keiling he must find an acceptable place to live or be housed at a halfway house.
 
  Keiling was arrested in January 2011 after threatening to stab members of Donnelly’s staff. Keiling at one time was found incompetent to stand trial and was hospitalized but has since pleaded guilty.
 
  Keiling is banned from contacting public officials without permission from probation officers.
 
  Donnelly was elected to the U.S. Senate in November.
