Mentone House Fire Deemed Total Loss

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Mentone house fire has been deemed a total loss. The Mentone Fire Department responded to a house fire on CR 1000W, at 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Mentone Fire Department Chief Mike Yazel said it was a total loss, but the structure is still standing.

The Mentone Fire Department had a full assist from the Burket Fire Department and a tanker along with some man power from Akron Fire Department. There were no injuries reported, but Yazel said two dogs were lost in the fire.

He said they were on the scene until 3:30 a.m. Monday. Yazel said the cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
