Milford Man Airlifted to Local Hospital After Snowmobile Accident

KOSCIUSKO, Ind. (WOWO): A Milford man suffered serious injuries after a snowmobile accident Thursday. It happened around 6:30 P.M. when 31-year-old Keith Hochstetler was operating his snowmobile in the area of 600 N and 150 W in Leesburg on private property. A report shows that Hochstetler hit a snowbank and was thrown from the snowmobile while traveling around 50 MPH. The man was picked up by a passing driver who saw the accident and taken to his home, where a relative took him to a Kosciusko hospital. He was then flown to Lutheran Hospital because of the severity of his injuries. Hochstetler was last listed in stable condition. Indiana Conservation Officers encourage snowmobile operators to wear protective gear and helmets when driving or riding on a snowmobile.  Thursday’s accident report will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutors Office for review.
