One dead in fatal Fort Wayne crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man is dead after an early-morning crash in Fort Wayne.

The Fort Wayne Police Department tells WOWO news it happened at the intersection of East Coliseum and Parnell at about 2:45 a.m. Monday, when a car left the north side of Coliseum and hit the traffic signal control box at the intersection.

The driver was pinned inside the car, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s not yet known what caused the crash, or if alcohol or speed played a part. The driver’s identity has not yet been released.
