FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a three vehicle crash that happened just after 7 a.m. Monday on Hillegas Road just south of Bass Road. 

Police say a car was traveling northbound on Hillegas when it drove into the southbound lane, striking a dump truck on the driver’s side.  A second dump truck that was behind the first then ran over the front of the car. 

The female driver of the car was transported to the hospital in critical condition, and no additional injuries were reported. Officials say it's unknown why the northbound vehicle drove into the southbound lane, and the incident remains under investigation.
