COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WOWO): One person is dead after a house fire in Columbia City.

The fire sparked around 12:30AM Friday. Three different fire departments responded to the home located at the corner of Peabody Ave. and E Van Buren Street.

Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel tells our partners in news at ABC 21 that Columbia City is a tight-knit community and they will be there for the victim’s family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the name of the victim will be released once an autopsy is completed.
