One person dies in Fort Wayne crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person died in a multi-vehicle crash in Fort Wayne on Tuesday afternoon.

At about 1:35 p.m., crews were called to the intersection of Coliseum Boulevard and Parnell Avenue on reports of a crash.

Police believe a vehicle was speeding on eastbound Coliseum Boulevard and rear ended a SUV that was stopped at a red light. The collision caused two other vehicles to crash.

One of the drivers was hospitalized in critical condition, but died at the hospital.

The driver that caused the crash and his passenger ran away from the scene. After the crash, police received a call saying the vehicle that caused the crash was stolen. But, the complainant matched the description of the driver seen running away from the scene.

Police arrested the man. The crash is still under investigation.

The name of the victim or the person arrested have not been released.
