FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana Pacers have killed the rumor involving the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

In a statement, the Pacers denied that the Mad Ants would be moved to another Indiana city. The rumor has been floating around behind the scenes as talk of a new downtown arena takes place, according to the Journal-Gazette.

The rumor was that Fort Wayne couldn’t count on the Mad Ants being a tenant because the Pacers would move them.

The Pacers said in the statement that there is no truth in the rumors, and they look forward to making the Mad Ants into a model D-League franchise…in Fort Wayne.

The Pacers bought the Mad Ants last year.
