Passenger Traffic Up at FWA

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you've noticed Fort Wayne Airport busier than usual this year, you are right.

Traffic is up. Jessica Miller with the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority says its the best first quarter in a long time.

Numbers set to be released Monday will show first quarter is up 18 percent for passengers flying in and out of Fort Wayne. Its up 15 percent just for passengers boarding plans.

Miller credits recently added non-stop flights to Charlotte and Philadelphia.

She says the convenience and customer service of the airport as contributing factors. Even without those new routes, she says, traffic would still be up 5 percent.
