BRYAN, Oh. (WOWO):  An inmate on a medical furlough “walked away,” and police are currently looking for the escapee.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Friday night, 26 year old J. Tucker Harman left 222 E. Hamilton St. in Bryan, Ohio.  The inmate was issued the furlough by the Paulding County Common Pleas Court while being housed in the Putnam County Jail.  Before he escaped, he left a note saying he would rather “die a free man than go back to jail.”

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office says Harman is considered a risk to himself and the community.  He's described as 5'10″, 274 pounds with reddish-brown hair and hazel eyes.  He also has several tattoos including a cross on the left side of his neck and a tear drop under his right eye.

If you have any information you're asked to call the sheriff's office at 419-399-3791, or send an anonymous tip at www.pauldingohsheriff.com .
