Photo of French Bridge Earns Indiana Girl Silver Medal

AUBURN, Ind. (AP) – A northeastern Indiana girl's photograph of a picturesque French bridge that's popular with young lovers has earned her a silver medal in a student photography contest.

Grace Bechdol of rural Auburn won her silver medal in the national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition for her photograph titled “Immortality.''

The Star of Auburn reports (http://bit.ly/1CmQzds ) that Grace photographed the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris during a class trip to France.

That bridge is where couples place padlocks on the bridge railing and throw the keys into the river Seine as a sign of everlasting love.

Bechdol is an eighth-grader at Canterbury Middle School in Fort Wayne.
