Physician Group to issue update on Lutheran buyout attempt

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It’s another chapter in the saga between Lutheran Health Network doctors and their parent company.

Last week, Community Health Systems rejected a $2-billion buyout offer from a local physicians group to wrestle away control of the Lutheran Health Network, amid complains that CHS isn’t financially stable and isn’t doing enough to keep the network running smoothly.

A subsequent meeting that attempted to mend fences ended with Lutheran doctors walking out.

Tomorrow night, doctors will gather at the Lutheran Hospital campus to issue a statement concerning the buyout attempt and the eight months that led to it.

The meeting will be in the lobby of Medical Office Building 2 on the main hospital campus in Fort Wayne at 7pm.
