Police Chase in Auburn Leads to the Arrest of a Fort Wayne Man

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): Tuesday morning, Auburn Police arrested 34-year-old Bruce Sheehan of Fort Wayne, after a short vehicle chase.

Around 7:15 a.m., Auburn Officers were helping the Indiana State Police find a stolen truck. Sheehan was driving that stolen truck and then left it in Steuben County.  Sheehan then stole two more vehicles.

Police noticed a vehicle matching the description of one of the stolen vehicles.  The vehicle registration confirmed the car was stolen. Police turned on their lights and Sheehan sped away, traveling left of center several times forcing oncoming drivers off the roadway.

After police chased Sheehan for over 5 miles, he lost control of the stolen car. He was then taken to the DeKalb County Jail on the following charges:

Receiving Stolen Auto Parts: D Felony

Resisting Law Enforcement:  D Felony

Habitual Traffic Violator:  D Felony

Reckless Driving:  B Misdemeanor
