Police investigating officer-involved shooting in Warsaw

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana State Police is looking into an officer-involved shooting that happened in Warsaw Wednesday night.

According to the Warsaw Police Department, officers were called to a house on Michaels Street to deal with a man who the house’s residents wanted to be removed from the property.

They told police they didn’t know the suspect, who left before police arrived and was allegedly caught trying to carjack people on Lake Street by another officer. A struggle ensued.

The officer, Daniel Clemens, first used his taser, which had no effect on the man, then shot him in the arm. The suspect, 31-year-old Kyle Miller, received non-life threatening injuries.

Miller has been charged with resisting law enforcement. Clemens is currently on paid administrative leave per the Warsaw Police Department’s policies, pending the results of the Indiana State Police’s investigation into the incident.
