Purdue-Ivy Tech Create Path for Engineering Majors

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Ivy Tech Community College has created a path for pre-engineering students to continue their studies toward a bachelor's degree in one of two engineering disciplines at Purdue University.

The agreement announced Wednesday by the two schools allows Ivy Tech students who complete an associate of science degree in pre-engineering with a cumulative 3.0 or higher grade-point average overall and in science, mathematics and engineering courses to continue their education in Purdue's civil engineering or environmental and ecological engineering programs. Candidates also must also meet admission requirements for the specific Purdue degree programs.

Purdue will reserve up to five admission slots per program for Ivy Tech graduates. More slots could be provided to qualified students as capacity becomes available.
