COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ It's the top issue on the fall ballot in Ohio, though not the one getting the most attention.
With less than three weeks before the Nov. 3 election, some backers are expressing nervousness that the issue's victory is not entirely certain, as they try to inform voters about the bipartisan redistricting plan in a season dominated by whether Ohio should legalize marijuana.
Issue 1 would revamp how Ohio draws legislative districts. It would impact who represents residents at the Statehouse.
While the proposal has no organized opposition, it faces some challenges.
The redistricting campaign's co-chairs, former state Reps. Matt Huffman and Vernon Sykes, say the effort lacks significant funds to widely promote the proposal to voters. Still, Huffman says he thinks the issue will pass, “but it's fragile.''
