INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO) — Death row inmate Roy Lee Ward has declined to meet with the Indiana Parole Board as part of his clemency request.
Ward cited his autism spectrum disorder diagnosis and a desire to spare the victim’s family from traveling to the hearing in Indianapolis.
His case is scheduled to be reviewed by the board this Monday, ahead of his execution set for October 10.
The parole board will weigh Ward’s request carefully before making a recommendation.
