INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The first same-sex couples to marry in Indiana say they're glad to be on equal footing with heterosexual couples in the state.
Dozens of couples lined up at the Marion County clerk's office in Indianapolis Wednesday to get married after federal Judge Richard Young struck down the state's gay marriage ban.

The president of Indiana Equality Action and his partner of 16 years, 40-year-old Robert Owens, were wed Wednesday by Marion County Clerk Beth White.
Sutton says they decided to marry quickly because of concerns that an appeals court would overturn Young's ruling. The state plans to appeal and seek a stay.
