Area Counties Steady in Ohio Unemployment Report

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOWO): Ohio's unemployment rate went down slightly in May, but many counties saw very little change, according to the state's Department of Job and Family Services.

Van Wert and Paulding Counties remain at 4.6 percent from April. Defiance County is at 4.9 percent. Putnam County is at 4.1, down from 4.4 last month's report. Williams County registered 5.0 percent. Mercer is at 3.0 percent.

Over all, Ohio's unemployment rate was 5.5 percent in May 2014, down from 5.7 percent in April 2014. The national rate is 6.3 percent.
