ATLANTA, Ind. (AP) _ An agricultural seed company plans a $60 million expansion of its central Indiana headquarters that will include new research labs, greenhouses and seed processing facilities.
Executives of Beck's Hybrids and Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann announced the expansion during an event Wednesday at the company's headquarters near the Hamilton County town of Atlanta.
The company's project will include renovating its current facilities and buying new equipment. It expects to start the expansion work this summer and hire up to 100 more employees within the next few years for the facility about 25 miles north of Indianapolis.
Company president Sonny Beck says it has had significant growth in the past few years.
The family owned company specializes in seeds for corn, soybean, wheat and forage products.
