AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): Southbound Interstate 69 near Auburn was closed down for a few hours Thursday afternoon after a semi crash blocked both lanes in a construction zone.

The DeKalb County Police Department tells WOWO News they were called to the scene at about 1:41pm at the 328 mile marker after the semi’s right side tires dropped off the roadway and hit the west guardrail, then lost control, eventually coming to a stop along another guardrail and leaking oil and fuel across the interstate.

The semi was a total loss and more than 200 feet of guardrail will have to be replaced. Traffic was rerouted for three hours while cleanup took place, and the driver was cited for improper lane movement.

Nobody was hurt.
