Small Plane Crashes in NE Indiana Field

WATERLOO, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities say a small plane crashed into a northeastern Indiana cornfield, causing minor injuries to the pilot. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department says the ultralight plane had taken off yesterday from an airport near Waterloo when the pilot lost rudder control and it went down in a nearby field. The sheriff's department says 66-year-old pilot Patrick Hale of Angola suffered some head bleeding and a hand injury and was taken to a hospital from the scene about 25 miles north of Fort Wayne.
