State Lawmakers Consider Medicare Expansion

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – State lawmakers are set to consider a plan that would pay for an expansion of Medicaid using the Healthy Indiana Plan and federal block grants. The House Public Health Committee plans to vote today on a Senate bill that contains much of what Republican leaders have called for as they consider enrolling low-income residents in Medicaid. The bill would direct Governor Mike Pence to seek a waiver and federal grants for the expansion.
