Suspicious February Death Deemed Murder; Arrest Made

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An arrest has been made in a February death in Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne police have arrested 39 year old Franklin Dent for the strangulation death of 34 year old Jessica Ann Fecht.

Fecht's body was found at a home on Sherman Boulevard in the northwest side of Fort Wayne in February after she went missing for over a month. On Wednesday, the Allen County Coroner's Office ruled that Fecht died after a rope or cord-like object was tightened around her neck.

Fecht, who is from Wisconsin, had reportedly come to Fort Wayne to meet Dent after meeting him online. Her body was only found because Fort Wayne police were investigating a marijuana-growing operation at that home on February 5th. Her body was found covered with dirt and debris in the basement of the home.

Dent faces charges of felony murder, failing to give notice of the death, and altering a death scene.
