SWACS Staff and Students Practice New Safety Procedure

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Southwest Allen County School students and staff participated in safety drills yesterday, as part of a new system called ALICE. ALICE, a nationally recognized procedure, stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evaluate, and is new this school year at Southwest Allen County Schools. Anita Gross, an SWACS social worker, tells WOWO News it was designed to improve safety procedures already in place at the schools and give students and staff more options if an emergency were to occur. She says so far, students have done well with the new system, and most of the feedback has been positive.
